Why look at these specific psalms and their breakdown? The psalms have universally been lauded as beautiful expressions of the human heart towards God for thousands of years and yet many of them would never have been written or considered sacred without the hardship, discipline, and distress. To get to the beauty of safe pasture he had to go through the darkness of valleys, so we shouldn't shun them when we find ourselves covered by death's shadow.
